The highlight of the meet was in the women’s Hammer event.
Queen Obisesan, who is the national champion, sets a new national record with a throw of 65.01 metres to erased her own national mark of 63.79m – set in Ilorin in 2013.
Obisesan therefore edged the ‘B’ standard of 61.70m set for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, but she’s still a long way from the ‘A’ standard of 67.30m.
